Alamosa, Colorado -- On October 1, 2025 Maya England and her family were traveling home from the Alamosa County courthouse when ICE agents used vehicles to surround and stop their car. Agents rushed the vehicle with guns drawn and attempted to open the driver door. Jose Aguilera, the driver of the vehicle, opened the window to communicate with the agent and ask why they were being detained at which point another agent approached the door and smashed the window with a baton. Aguilera was subsequently taken into custody. Per Coloraro state law, ICE is not permitted to arrest individuals traveling to or from a courthouse.
